A look
forward to the future reveals that Y’shua our Messiah will return to
gather together His elect Bride and together we will rule and reign with him. His
first coming at Sukkot was a simple, humble one. He came as the Suffering Servant also
known in Jewish tradition as Messiah ben Joseph. He came as an innocent
babe, the Lamb of God, to save His people from their sins.
When he comes again He will
return in glory as the conquering King, Messiah ben David. He will return as the
Lion of Judah to restore the Kingdom to Israel. If you want to celebrate the prophetic
Sukkot to
come then go ahead and plan a royal feast.
Here are some ideas for the
Last Great Day (the 8th day Sabbath) festivities:
· Plan a wedding banquet with all the beauty you can put together.
Decorate with flowers, candles, and linens. Put up a Chuppah (wedding canopy) for
everyone to dance under. A large tallit (prayer shawl) on poles is a fitting
chuppah because of the Scriptures about dwelling in the secret place of the Most High and
resting in the shadow of His wings. His wings are His covering, the tallit.
· Create pageantry fit for the King of Kings. Make shimmering large
banners to carry or stand on t-poles. Make smaller banners or flags to wave. If pageantry
is new to you search the web under praise banners and you will find many ministries
that carry materials and worship items.
· The feasts are times that we are instructed to rejoice in the dance
before Him. Have individuals or teams give their gift of dance as an act of worship
unto Him. Learn new dances and participate - don’t just watch. Yahweh desires all
of His children to worship Him in the dance. Men that includes you too: find some
macho dances to do such as the Chassidic War/Wedding Dance. If you are new to
Davidic dance there are good dance videos available from various Messianic
ministries.
· Sing and play instruments. Blow the shofars. Play the tambourines. Do
all you can do to restore the fallen tabernacle of David.
· Dress elegantly as you would for a wedding. It might be fun to create
ancient/Biblical wedding garments. Children may enjoy wearing gold crowns and bridal veils.
· Create a Ketubah (Jewish wedding contract) announcing the marriage of
the Lamb and use it to decorate your feast place. Perhaps all of your congregation
could sign it like a guest book.
· Favors for your wedding guests could include net bags of candy kisses
with Scriptures from the Song of Solomon attached.
